Top8 Decklists 4th Peasant Grand Prix Ingolstadt

More Peasant is more better!

Our good friends in Ingolstadt, Germany, have organized another Peasant tournament on July 21st. With 19 players attending it was once more a smashing success!

When we look at the top 8 we see a highly diverse metagame, with several new renditions of very familiar archetypes, such as MBC, MBA and tortured existence. Additionally, a couple of decks popped up that look really interesting, but which I was unfamiliar with, i.e. Canadian Threshold, Spielplatz mit Rutsche (playground with slide) and (the aptly dubbed) OP Delver is OP. But ultimately, the (in my opinion) often underestimated brute force of those tree-hugging, earth-loving, pointy eared freaks (cookies for the first one to recognize the reference) took home the victory in one gracious swipe of elven steel. Congratulations to Andreas H for appreciating the joy of emptying your hand on turn 2 or 3 and smashing your opponent's face in!

    very interesting and new decks.

    Their metagame seems to be strongly influenced by control decks. (although two aggrodecks made place #1 and #2)

    As you'll see in the metagame overview the lower ranks are mostly shaped by aggro decks (infect, burn, affinity, 4color aggro), whilest the middle-rankings consists of control (2x Isochron Scepter, 1x MBC).

    And the top8 above is full of control and aggro-control to a greater or lesser extent.


    Also: no combo decks. Anyway, combo would have been a bad choice in a meta full of Hymns, Daze and Force of Will ;)

    I updated the top 8 appearance of this tournament to a great new format. Thanks for writing the code for this Hennink! It needs to be cleaned up (table needs to end) but this format will greatly improve the clarity of the blog!
