Results April 9th, 2026

Last month's winner found himself mulliganing practically every game, and consequently found himself way down in the ranking this month. Nobody was ready to claim the undefeated crown this time around though, with our top four players all ending up with 9 points in 4 games! Stefan ended up on top thanks to the best second tiebreaker score (game win percentage)! His Esper Glitter Bots deck lost only to second place Johan's Dimir Flux deck. Yeah, a deck playing three main deck Energy Fluxes, and a fourth one on side, cannibalized our artifact heavy metagame, dropping his first match in the finals to Bruno's Madness Burn deck. That only leaves Arjan, who piloted a more traditional WU Glitter Bots list to third place. Congrats to the top 4!

I myself brought yet another update of my Fright Night deck, and I feel I have gotten closer to the correct build yet again. Unfortunately, I ran into a maniac running maindeck Energy Fluxes :P One of these days! *Shakes fist* On to the decklists!

Peasant is gaining more traction in Groningen! At some point we even had the maximum of 18 sign-ups! Unfortunately we're still in that time of the year where people get sick, but we started the evening with a healthy 14 players. As usual, multiple proven archetypes floated to the top of the standings, but at the end of the night, the only undefeated player was Martijn B. Finally returning to Peasant after more than 13 years away from the format, he claimed the win with a true brew, leveraging Gut, True Soul Zealot. Amazing! Congratulations on the win!

Right behind Martijn B, Jasper piloted Neral's Jund Wildfire list to a solid 3-0 finish, proving the deck has some legs in our "meta" as well (our meta being 50% janky brews, obviously ;)). Results February 12th, 2026

Sweet! Sixteen players showed up for our second Peasant tournament this year! As always, we had both brewers and netdeckers, but when the dust settled, we were left with mostly established decks at the top of the standings. Mono red decks were back in burning fashion, with two of the four making top 5, including a Kuldotha Red deck that added a Sneaky Snacker package to the mix for a personal touch! Dredge made a triumphant return (pun intended), finishing with a solid nine points as well.

The final 3-1 list was a brew by yours truly. I revisited my Haunt the Network deck from the first tournament last year, adding Black Mage's Rod and Pactdoll Terror for a lot more reach than the first time I tried this deck out. I played some awesome games (including my first win ever against Joris's crushing Elves list), but I was truly powerless against Thomas and his trusty WU Glitter Bots deck! This isn't the first time he found himself at the top of the standings when the night concluded, and it probably won't be the last time. The deck puts a lot of pressure on you fast! Congrats with the victory Thomas!

Nine people braved the wintery weather to play the first Peasant tournament in the new year. With so few people, and a snow storm on its way, there were only three rounds this time around. At the end only one player bagged the full points, congratulations to Joep, our January winner! Joep borrowed Jasper's deck from December, and obviously boatloads of removal and access to an Infest Lesson paid of again. Unfortunately I wasn't able to attend myself, so I can't regale you with cool stories on the other decks. I guess that means only one thing... On to the decklists!
