Results October 23rd, 2025

The gospel is starting to spread, people! After a lower attendance in September, we shot right back up to a whopping 17 players! The vibe was great, and people were having fun, both brewing, and trying out established builds. Glitter Bots* was the clear frontrunner of the established decks, with three traditional WU lists in the tournament, and a fourth one that was clearly inspired by it, adding red and black for some choice cards. The tournament was won by an old favorite that was hit hard by the latest ban round though, as Johan and Siebe figured out a new WeeBee list to take the top two spots by drawing against each other and steamrolling the rest of the competition. Congratulations gentlemen! Behind the two WeeBee players, only one of the Glitter Bots decks managed a winning record, joined by Infect, Jund Initiative, and my Sultai Beans deck. I will say that I faced Glitter Affinity twice, and hadn't expected to win the second match after getting absolutely demolished in the first match. I managed to eke out a monstrous game one, ending with just four cards in my deck, then traded blows in the second and third game on the back of a much better sideboard plan than the first time around. It was a great, tense match, that could have easily fallen the other way. All around a great evening, and hopefully we'll see some of the new faces around more often!

Before we move on to the decklists, I do have to shout out one man. A man who has gone above and beyond trying to make Glaring Fleshraker look like a chad. A man who has brazenly played Narcomoeba as his 6th through 9th uncommon when he brewed up something other than a Fleshraker combo. A man who is in desperate need of someone willing and able to do a proper deckcheck before he sleeves up his so-called "Peasant" decks. A man who looked very, very apologetic when someone pointed out he was playing a banned card. I mean, maybe Donald should just stick to Fleshraker lists from now on, but I like his creativity too much to encourage that. Besides, I'm pretty sure he'll quadruple check the heck out of his next decklists ;)

*PS All That Glitters Affinity is too long, and too boring of a name, so I'm sticking to Glitter Bots. We need funner deck names anyway! Now on to the decklists!

Results September 25th, 2025

The bans and unbans are here, what's new?! Well, Johan definitely pretended Goblin Bushwhacker wasn't a huge loss to Kuldotha Red, and piloted the deck to a nice 2-1 finish. Only three games? Yeah, it was a weird month, with a lot of regulars unable to make it due to other appointments or the flu running rampart in town. Still, eight brave souls took on the new frontier, and battled it out for the top spot. After the dust settled, Arjan was the king of the hill, revisiting his All That Glitters Affinity deck, that had been thwarted by a Glaring Broodscale list last time he tried it. With that deck out of the way (or at least also heavily impacted by the recent bans), no one was able to keep Arjan away from the win. Congrats!
