Another tournament gone by, another slew of decklists. Quite a few innovative decks this time around, and I saw some uncommons I never saw before: Control Magic, Quest for Pure Flame, Lightning Greaves and Boar Umbra, amongst others. I must say, I'm happy to report that I didn't run into those Control Magics with my Mono Green Eldrazi deck :)

In the end, Siebe did it again with MBC. Nice job!

I was happy with the performance of my eldrazi deck as well, and that maindecked Dosan's Oldest Chant won me more than one game on the day. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to play big annihilating monsters in Peasant!

Until next time!

  2. interesting lists, thank you.

Green seems to be the dominant color of the format.

  3. Color appearances in the last 2 tournaments:

    R: 17x
    G: 15x
    B: 9x
    W: 9x
    U: 6x

    Average placement of the colors:

    B: 4.3
    G: 8.1
    W: 10.2
    R: 10.5
    U: 12.3

the problem is, that probably bad players and decklists drag down green and red.

But, hell: what is wrong with blue?

  4. Hey Martijn,
it would be great if you got some time to write an blog article about the metagame in the moment.

Which decks do you think are tier 1 or 2 and why?

What does a peasant deck need to perform constantly well?

    thanks

  5. @Anonymous (the 2nd): I would think it is black at the moment, with the recent top finishes of MBC.

@Anonymous (the 3rd): As your figures indeed show. Blue just wasn't played much in the last two tournaments. That of course means that the cute but quite badly tuned mono blue affinity deck which nearly took back to back last places weighs down its performance. Also, random variance can be unkind to such a small sample size. We'll probably see blue do better in tournaments to come! No need to worry just yet ;)

@Anonymous (the 4th): I think my current blog articles already give a good insight in what's good and what's not. But as I was typing a longer and longer answer, I realized I might as well make an article out of it: clickity.
