As for me? I am on a quest, this season, to play obscure new decks, just for kicks! This time around I built quite an awesome deck, at least, it's hilarious to play! My opponents were a little less charmed, though it wasn't good enough to stop the eventual nrs 1 and 2. But hey, I guess that's how Karma works ;)

ReplyDeletealready thought of unbanning the artifact lands since "Metalcraft" was spoiled?
ReplyDeleteTo keep Affinity in Check it's maybe enough to ban Cranial Plating plus Thoughtcast.
Without the artifact lands probably none of the common/uncommon metalcraft cards will see play in Peasant...
We tried to neuter Affinity before, by banning Cranial Plating, but the deck doesn't need that card to dominate the format, it just gets even worse. Thoughtcast doesn't add a lot, though Disciple of the Vault would maybe help, a bit. Add metalcraft to the mix though, and all over sudden the deck gets even more obscene. Truth to be told, I'm not really interested in finding out if a 4/4 for 1G is balanced, when just laying down your lands guarantees that you'll trigger the metalcraft.
ReplyDeleteSince we continually re-evaluate our banned list, and I'm not the only organizer, our opinion as a group might be different from my opinion as an individual though. We'll see.
lol, the clue is to ban Seat of the Synod & Cranial Plating.
